How Salzburg craftsmanship goes viral.

Worum es geht

For Hand.Werk.Stadt by Altstadt Salzburg, oha! digital teamed up with vision Salzburg to visit three Salzburg master craftspeople and turn their stories into a social interview series — achieving nearly 80,000 views and proving just how much craftsmanship means to the people of Salzburg.

01

Die Challenge

Craftsmanship thrives on observation.

About hands, materials, and the moment raw matter turns into a one-of-a-kind piece. On a screen, none of that is tangible at first.

The challenge: to convey that exact feeling anyway – for people who don't know the workshops and have never set foot in an atelier. And to do so in a feed where every post fights for seconds of attention.

02

Die Idee

Not the product. The people behind it.

Instead of just filming the workpieces, we let the master craftspeople speak for themselves: why they do what they do, what drives them, and how raw materials turn into unique pieces.

Three businesses, three stories: Das Kleid with Marlene Mayer, Kirchtag Schirme, and Schliesselberger Lederwaren with Wolfgang Schliesselberger – edited into short, bite-sized content pieces designed to perform on Instagram.

Gut zu wissen

In short.

What did oha! digital do for Hand.Werk.Stadt?

For vision Salzburg and the Altstadt Salzburg, oha! digital produced a social interview series for Instagram: content planning, storyboards, filming in three master craft businesses across Salzburg, post-production, as well as social media and community management. The result: almost 80,000 views.

How do you make craftsmanship visible on Instagram?

Focus on people instead of products. Short interviews straight from the workshop, close to hands and materials, edited specifically for those crucial first seconds in the feed. When master craftspeople explain why they do what they do in their own words, even viewers with no connection to the craft watch right through to the end.

Is social video content worth it for city and location marketing?

Yes, if it tells stories rather than running straightforward ads. With just three Reels, the Hand.Werk.Stadt series reached nearly 80,000 views and put businesses in the spotlight that many people would otherwise simply walk past.

How does a social interview series work with oha! digital?

Content planning (which businesses, which stories, which structure), a storyboard for each interview, on-site shooting, editing into punchy social formats, publishing, and community management. One dedicated team from the initial concept down to the final comment.

How much does a social video series cost with oha! digital?

Social video productions start at €2,000 net for up to 5 videos – including pre-production, the shoot, and post-production. The final cost depends on the locations, filming days, and overall scope. You'll receive a clear, transparent figure during your initial consultation.
