Short & sweet
Since 15/09/2026, Meta One has bundled all Meta subscriptions (Instagram/Facebook/WhatsApp Plus, Core, Premium, Essential up to Max) under a single umbrella brand.
The Meta Verified tick is now included in the business tiers Essential and higher (from $14.99/month) – no longer bookable separately.
Eligibility for the tick remains: 18+, ID verification, 2FA, existing account activity, clean account history.
Meta has not yet disclosed specific AI usage quotas per tier – an exact comparison is difficult.
Before upgrading, a tool audit is worthwhile: does a tier replace existing expenses, or is it merely an added cost?
Meta One has gone live this week, and what was once a mere "something to consider" has turned into a mass-market product overnight: According to Meta's own announcement from 15 September 2026, the platform already counts 15 million subscriptions and trials. According to Appfigures data, Instagram's daily revenue jumped by 475 percent to 1.2 million US dollars per day during the launch week. In plain terms: Meta One is not a trial balloon, but the new reality for anyone using Instagram, Facebook, or WhatsApp for business – and quite a bit is changing for Meta Verified as a result.
What exactly is Meta One – and who is it intended for?
Meta One is the umbrella brand for all paid offerings across Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Meta AI. Meta laid the groundwork for this back in spring: According to TechCrunch from 27 May 2026, Meta initially launched individual app subscriptions (Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus, WhatsApp Plus). On 15 September 2026, Meta turned this into a comprehensive tiered system with seven levels, according to TechCrunch.
Roughly speaking, there are three target groups: Those who only want to use a single app more intensively pay between 2.99 and 3.99 US dollars for Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus, or WhatsApp Plus. Those who work extensively with AI opt for Core (7.99 US dollars) or Premium (19.99 US dollars), which offer higher quotas for Meta's image generator Muse, AI video, and the Restyle feature for Instagram Stories. And those operating as creators or businesses land at Essential (from 14.99 US dollars), Advanced (from 49.99 US dollars), Expert (from 149 US dollars), or Max (from 499 US dollars) – featuring profile management, Meta Business Agent, analytics, and, at the very top with Max, according to reports, unlimited human support including telephone access to Meta representatives.
For Austria and Germany: According to a conversion by drweb.de from 16 September 2026, the prices roughly correspond to 2.60 to around 434 euros per month; however, Meta itself emphasises that "prices, features, and availability may vary depending on region, app, and account" and that the rollout is taking place gradually.
What sets Meta One apart from Meta Verified?
Meta Verified was a single product: a checkmark, some account protection, a bit of support, for around 12 to 15 euros per month. Meta One is the exact opposite – a seven-tier modular system where the verified checkmark is merely one of many components. According to TechCrunch, the Verified badge is now included in the business tiers Essential and above, along with Business Agent access, impersonation protection, and a WhatsApp Business channel. Anyone who only wanted the checkmark no longer gets it in isolation, but automatically bundled with an entire suite of business tools.
In terms of substance, explainx.ai puts it accurately: While Meta Verified was primarily paid for a verified identity and certain protection features, Meta One mainly gates compute-intensive AI capacity in its higher tiers. The logic has thus shifted: from "I pay to be verified" to "I pay for how much AI I am allowed to use". On Threads, the phrasing that Meta Verified is being "replaced" or "rebranded" by Meta One has consequently been circulating for days – Meta has not yet published an official announcement using this wording, but even its own help pages now consistently refer to the "Meta One verified badge" instead of the "Meta Verified badge".
One point of criticism remains, regardless of the name: As gadgetChecks reported on 16 September 2026, Meta still does not provide concrete figures regarding the AI quotas for the individual tiers – TechCrunch quotes Meta as stating that quotas may "vary by country, surface, and system load". A clear comparison between Core and Premium is therefore currently hardly possible.
Is the switch worth it – for SMEs as well as for major brands?
It depends on where you stand. For solo self-employed professionals and small teams who regularly hit the limits of free Meta AI usage, Core or Premium can indeed save time, because image and video generation are built directly into Instagram and Facebook instead of running through a separate tool. For larger companies with multiple brands or countries, the business tiers become more compelling: Advanced brings Meta's first native competitor analysis tool directly to the platform with competitor benchmarks and audience insights, according to hush.digital – previously largely the domain of costly third-party tools.
That is exactly what we at oha! are currently evaluating with clients: The real question is never "Is the subscription expensive?", but "Does it replace something we are already paying for?". 37 to 50 euros per month is minor compared to an average marketing budget – the relevant calculation is whether Advanced replaces your existing analytics or scheduling tools, or merely runs on top of them. We perform precisely this tool audit before making any recommendation, before another subscription turns into a permanent drain on the marketing budget.
The growth figures certainly point to traction: Analysts at BNP Paribas expect an additional 13.5 billion US dollars in subscription revenue for Meta by 2028, according to ad-hoc-news, while Truist projects as much as 20 billion US dollars by 2030. However, the 15 million "subscriptions and trials" represent a combined figure of paying customers and free trial subscriptions – how many of them will actually pay after the trial period remains to be seen. Those who jump in now are testing along with everyone else – not just for themselves, but also for Meta's pricing model.

How do you get Meta One – and do you need to qualify for it?
In principle, any adult can subscribe to the individual App Plus tiers and Core/Premium directly within the settings of Instagram, Facebook, or WhatsApp, provided Meta One is already available in the respective region. The verified checkmark within Essential and above is the part that comes with prerequisites – the classic Meta Verified criteria continue to apply unchanged, even after the rebranding to "Meta One verified badge":
Minimum age of 18 years and an account representing a real person or a registered business – no fan pages or anonymous accounts.
Confirm identity: Profile name and photo must match an official government ID; businesses require appropriate business verification documents.
Enable two-factor authentication – no application goes through without 2FA.
Demonstrate existing activity: Brand-new accounts without posting history will not be approved.
Clean account history: No recent violations of the Terms of Service or Community Standards on Instagram or Facebook.
In practical terms, this means: Before you schedule a team meeting about Meta One, it pays to check the settings of the respective app under "Subscription" or visit meta.com/one directly to see whether the desired tier is already available in your market. If it isn't yet, waiting costs nothing – whereas a hasty upgrade to a tier whose AI quotas Meta has not yet disclosed certainly does.
