In the fast-paced agency world, working efficiently is not a nice extra, but a necessity. With oha! we have decided to use the tool Motion to test. Testing, in fact, because we often have the feeling that we can no longer cope with the daily challenges, which in turn affects our productivity and work-life balance. The aim: to use our working time productively and fight common productivity traps (which we all know...). At the moment, we are particularly concerned with these:
1. incorrect prioritization of tasks
We've all been there: we put off some projects because they seem less urgent, only to realize that they should suddenly be a top priority. The wrong prioritization leads to unnecessary stress and hectic last-minute actions. Motion helps us to prioritize tasks objectively and based on real deadlines, not according to the „who shouts the loudest“ principle.
2. the dear everyday life
Between dentist appointments and yoga classes, tasks can quickly become emotional rather than rational. Motion helps us to keep a cool head and work through our to-do list systematically so that private appointments no longer interfere with our workload, but are integrated harmoniously.
3. internal projects vs. customer projects
Internal projects tend to slip down the priority list, especially if they have no fixed deadlines. This often leads to important development or optimization work being left undone. With Motion, we plan to integrate these tasks into our day-to-day business on an equal footing in order to grow not only externally but also internally in the long term.
4. work-life balance
It is a personal concern of mine that our team receives the best possible support not only at work, but also in their free time. Motion should help to create a clear separation between work and private life. The aim is for every employee to be able to close their laptop in the afternoon with a good feeling, knowing that all tasks are controlled and planned.
5. emails, emails, emails
Nothing can disrupt the flow of work like the constant pinging of new emails or messages. In the flood of newsletters and requests, it's easy to lose track and valuable work time. With Motion, we have defined fixed times for processing emails to ensure that our team stays focused and can work productively without being constantly interrupted by incoming messages.
6. fixed lunch breaks at last
Especially on hectic days, the lunch break tends to be overlooked. To ensure that our team stays healthy and energized, even with busy schedules, we have integrated the lunch break as an integral part of our Motion working day. This not only promotes physical health, but also mental clarity and creativity.
It's a test!

The integration of Motion is an exciting step for us at oha!, with the aim of not only working more efficiently, but also with greater satisfaction. Our timeframe for the first step is 1 month. We are looking forward to the results and will be happy to share our experiences after this first intensive test phase. Who knows, maybe Motion is also something for your team?
P.S. If this post hadn't been integrated as a task in my working day today, it would probably never have been written. Internal projects and all that 🙂 So you can see - something is already happening.
